I think I'm there with Walk in Stanmer Woods

Detail

Detail
Painting of Stanmer woods is nearly there...... just needs a few horses, dogs and detail. I expect to finish it today.
Somewhere between mince pie making, present wrapping, shopping and doing a load of back-dated washing I have managed to get some painting in. Stage II, is ready for stage III.

Stage II.

Mince pies and mulled-wine......... it's been a while since I made pies.

Started at 13:00h ended at 16:00h. A whole wall in Artescape, Kemptown. The selection comprises landscape, townscape, figurative and still life of recent work of the last couple of years. A very vibrant wall. If you don't like colour turn away now. Really enjoyed putting it together with my super 'studio assistant' Mike. It's essential to have another pair of eyes (and hands) Tom (the gallery owner) was impressed and loved the results. I must go back tomorrow to put up some blurb and a photo. I was amazed how four different painting genres could actually work, there appears a common link in either colour or form throughout the work - and I was concerned that it would seem like too much of a mish-mash. It seems to work ok.

Labeling work
It's late, it's quiet and it's time for creating a new website. This one will make it easier to manage. I will be able to upload new work, as and when. I can blog, make alterations and keep it current and active. It is a slow process, and in this I am also learning new techno skills (never a bad thing, although I'd rather be painting!)

This is my most recent painting (detail). I made it last week, one evening. It is called 'Walk in the Woods' - acrylic on board. A series follows.
